‘Marking the Time’ was a 2018 group exhibition highlighting a selection of the brightest mid-career Malaysian contemporary artists: Ali Nurazmal, Anniketyni Madian, Azad Daniel, Haafiz Shahimi, Haslin Ismail. Curated by Farouk Khan and Zena Khan, ‘Marking the Time’ was staged as a collaboration between two local private galleries: Artcube Gallery and Core Design Gallery.
Displaying a wide variety of visual and conceptual languages not only introduced audiences to the individual practices of each featured artist, but marked the current state of Malaysian contemporary art at that moment in time. The exhibition and its supporting catalogue were intended to act as a source of knowledge and significant reference point for audiences and collectors of Malaysian art.
